I've been working at Netflix pretty solidly since November. I'm doing really well! And. I RUN A MACHINE. WTF. Me! So beyond not mechanically inclined, heh. But I really enjoy it. A lot. And I absolutely adore the people I work with and my boss. It's a great environment.
From the third week when the boss said "Come in on Tuesday", he actually meant Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday lmao. And ever since then I've worked more than mom, actually. I'm getting over 20 hours a week, and those are usually on the Mondays and Tuesdays, as those are our high volume days.
I had to sign a non-disclosure agreement at the beginning of employment, so I don't know how to brag about how well I'm doing and how close I am to reaching the level of the veterans who work with me. But suffice to say, I am almost there, and that's really good after a month (I'm faster than mom, and she's been there since May lol). So... it looks like it will work out long-term! I hope so. I'd love to work there foreva. Maybe be promoted someday, but like, I'd like to get my student loan paid off in the next few years. Yeah. heh.
In other news, the weather is fucking nuts. Last week, below freezing for the HIGH. This week? Mid 70s record breaking highs. WTF GLOBAL WARMING. It's JANUARY. We had a thunderstorm last night and tornado watches. And I heard there were tornadoes in the eastern part of the state, up by Missouri. WTF.
And randomly, here's a teeny list of what I look forward to in 2008:
1. JULY. Because. I AM GOING TO DISNEYLAND! I'm going out to California to visit my dear friendsverycleanindeed (who lives there) and kindoftrouble (who lives in England). We're going to DISNEYLAND (for two days even! I never, ever thought I'd go to Disneyland... I GET TO GET MOUSE EARS!) and then we will be going to COMIC CON!!!! GEEK FANGIRL SQUEE GAHHHHHHHH. Plus there will be board games, Alias season one, Cheesecake Factory, and GUSSIE (Morgan's doggie. SO CUTE.).
So yes. July is shaping up to be as awesome as last July whensoft_princess, her sis, and sam_gamgee visited me. So. It might be my favorite month (besides October, because of Halloween, lol).
2. More work at Netflix! Huzzah!
3. Uh... yeah. That's all I got for now. Once I have saved for July, I can concentrate on saving 4 r34ls.
I'm still getting used to the fact that I have a job. I'm just... yeah. It's fantastically nice. :D
