Dude. What the hell, universe?
Jun. 14th, 2008 05:45 pmSo. We're working 38 hours or more a week at work for the rest of the summer. Fine and dandy, need the money. It is massively tiring though.
But really need it.
As the fucking car broke down. Again. For a new reason.
It was smoking and the acceleration wouldn't work and it smelled awful. Last night.
See, yesterday, we got off of at work around 1:30, came by the apartment got some stuff, then went out to Cindy's. Cindy is a buddy of mom's and mine. And when we get to her house, mom is like 'huh, the car is overheating', as she noticed the smell. So we think we'll get over to somewhere today and have them check out, you know, check'y out'y things. We ride with Cindy and her mom, as they and we are going to the Sac and Fox Casino. We were there for a bit, then went to the Kickapoo Casino. Had fun, went back to Cindy's, played with her dogs and cats (her pit bull Sassy, is one of the best dogs ever, though Toby, the gigantic german shepherd is super well-behaved and likes having his back end scratched, and did I mention is gigantic?). We then left after 1am LOL. Seriously. We didn't nap yesterday. So we were up from 4:15am (mom) and 5:15am (me).
So we're on the highway, I notice fog or maybe water spewing up from behind us, and think 'huh'. Then we smell it. Then the acceleration starts going. Then it fully went. And holy gods. The amount of smoke coming from underneath the hood was in-freakin-sane. It smoked for minutes. Full on minutes after we turned off the car. And the smell, ew.
So we called Triple A (who pwn the universe, so much), they come and tow. And the tow was just 30 bucks, as you get the first 5 miles free, and it's 3 dollars per mile afterwards.
We get home... around 4am.
Then today. We get up around 1pm, cause hello, exhausted. Figure out where we're going to haul the thing (as the place that we wanted to haul it had no room). So we had Triple A (again) haul it to a Precision AutoCare place a couple miles away. And they were swamped. So they couldn't run a diagnostic today, so they will Monday.
So we have no car again. And will have to pay $60 just for the diagnostic.
I was going to get my damn bus ticket this weekend. But that is now out, as I will have to pay for whatever repairs we have to make. Or get a new (used) car.
This blows goats.
